Check Out the New Trailing Page and Photo Gallery!

We have a new page! It’s all about K9 Windseekers, the handle for our Trailing focus. Not only that, but a photo gallery showing the teams at the November 11-12 Trailing Seminar is also up!

You may have read in a previous blog post that Trailing is now available and being incorporated into what we offer at Spiritdance Tracking & Coaching. If not, click here!

Following the success of the November Trailing Seminar, our amazing circle of committed trackers is embarking on winter lessons to keep up with training and progress.

Lessons are full, but new ones will begin in late February, along with another Trailing Seminar on the Family Day Weekend (February 17-18). Watch the News page for updates.

I hope you will check this out. We have some exciting plans for trailing. But you know what else? We just want to be the best trainers we can be, and see our dogs having fun, and freedom, to work scent in the best way they can.

It’s nothing fancy! In fact people at the seminar said they loved to see the dogs having SO MUCH FUN.

Trails were a natural shape, no big 90 degree turns, no worries about missing articles. Because we have trail layers walking naturally from start to end, leaving scent to help dogs ‘connect the dots’ and waiting at the end to praise, play and reward every dog!

Trails were appropriate to each dog, from 5, 8 and 9 month old beginners Magnum. Savage and Tove, to experienced dogs like a young Malinois Fury that has been through a lot of scent training and tracking in the US, and our amazing 7 year olds Tris and Ryder. You can see them all in the photo gallery, along with the smiles on the handler – and trail layer’s – faces!

Participant Feedback about the Seminar!

I love feedback! It helps to ensure we meet the needs of our passionate participants. THANK YOU to everyone who provided a response to the survey, and of course, for your participation to help me on this journey!

BTW, someone noted ‘Other’ for one question asking what was missing, or what would you like added? I guess the gauntlet has been dropped! The answer they provided was:

Click the images below to see what people liked most about the seminar and trailing, and suggestions for future seminars and goals! These are anonymous (well, except for one positive comment where a dog is named!) You can see pictures of the participants in the photo gallery.

6 participants total, and not everyone answered every question… (our seminars are small, but the feedback is mighty!) Captions below each image explain what the question asked. Information is below each pic in comments.

You are invited to join in the fun. The next trailing seminar will be in February 2024 followed by lessons. Seminars are small, and so are lesson groups, for optimal working and learning. But our hearts are big and we love to support each other and see our dogs enjoy being out doing what they love to do.
