Photo Gallery and Videos of the February Winter Weekend Seminar!

Have you wondered what a weekend tracking with wonderful people might be like? We have them all the time! Now, photo galleries and video show you the kinds of things we do for two days.

On this weekend we had a great mix of beginners, experienced and advanced teams. The advanced and experienced teams had specific things they wanted to work on so exercises on blind tracks and finding articles – people were set up for them. While those tracks aged, the beginner teams worked together to lay trails and hide for each other!

For some, a blind trail was a completely new idea, but after warm-ups, we introduced a blind turn, and everyone rocked it! Seriously, the dogs have the noses, right? We are learning to read and follow them, plus we are teaching them the body language we can read!

After exercises and motivation, plus introductions to some new ideas on day one, day two held some fun challenges appropriate to everyone’s abilities. We also showed teams how to carry on and train on their own, and to keep their training positive and motivating.

I love to develop plans to help everyone progress, and keep momentum going. Right now many of the teams are continuing with lessons. In April we have a Mock Test set up where people can see how they would do for either a CKC test or a Trailing test at the level they feel they can attempt. The Mock Test is full!

Since we have so few test opportunities, it is important to me that everyone has opportunities to be in that environment and experience some nerves, but more importantly, work on their handling and learn to be calm and support their amazing dogs!
